Senior Management Appointments

STRENGTHENING OF SENIOR MANAGEMENT TEAM

Salamander Energy plc is pleased to announce a number of new appointments to further strengthen its senior management team in Asia.

John Bell has been promoted from General Manager, Thailand into the newly created role of Group Technical Director, reporting to Chief Executive James Menzies. John will relocate to Singapore and have responsibility for the key technical functions in the Company, including Geology & Geophysics, Business Development Services, Reservoir Engineering, Operations, Production, Drilling, Facilities Engineering and IT.

Graham Balchin has been appointed General Manager, Thailand. Graham has over 25 years of industry experience; most recently with BG Group where he was responsible for its operations in Trinidad & Tobago. Graham has also worked for Agip, LASMO, Amerada Hess and BP.

Craig Stewart will be joining the Group as General Manager, Indonesia, replacing John Henriksen who is retiring. Craig joins Salamander from Vico Indonesia (ENI/BP Joint Operating Company) where he is currently President and CEO. Vico Indonesia produces over 90,000 boepd and employs 750 people and 1800 permanent contractors. He has extensive experience in SE Asia, having worked previously for Eni in Indonesia and Unocal in Indonesia and Thailand.

Jerry Smart has joined the Group in the newly created role of Exploration Manager, Indonesia with responsibility for all geological and geophysical activity in the country. Jerry has thirty years of industry experience, principally with Eni and LASMO, and has managed exploration projects in Libya, Pakistan, Ghana, Brazil, Venezuela, Gulf of Mexico, Alaska and the North Sea.
